Qualifying Examination

• First year Admission :

    A pass in the 10th Standard (SSLC) with 35 Marks in Examination or any other equivalent qualification.

• Lateral Entry Admission :

    A pass in HSC /(Academic) or (Vocational) courses offered in the Higher Secondary School in Tamil Nadu affiliated to the Tamil Nadu Higher Secondary Board with eligibility for University Courses of Study or 10th Std. and 2 years I.T.I. or equivalent Examination.

Should have studied the following subjects

Age Limit

     No Age Limit.

Selection will be made under the following Categories

• Open Competition - 31%
• Backward Class(Others)- 26.5%
• Backward Class(Muslims) - 3.5%
• Most Backward Class/Denotified Communities- 20%
• Scheduled Caste - 15%
• Scheduled Caste (Arunthathiyar) - 3%
• Scheduled Tribe - 1%

     The Percentage of seats under the above categories will be as per the orders of Government of Tamil Nadu.

Mode Of Selection

• First year:

    Selection of eligible candidates for the courses in the polytechnic college will be made based on the total marks secured in the qualifying examination and ranking will be done in the order of total marks secured by the candidates in the SSLC/Equivalent examination following communal reservation.

• Lateral Entry:

    Selection of candidates shall be done by ranking of all candidates put together.The candidates are selected on the basis of total marks secured in the +2 Examinations. 10th std. Passed +2 years I.T.I.,are selected on the basis of total marks secured in the Qualifying Examinations,up to maximum of 10% sanctioned intake.

The following original certificates should be produced at the time of admission to the principal

• Conduct Certificate and Transfer Certificate in original from the Head of the Educationl Institution in which the candidate had last studied.
• SSLC/HSC Original mark Sheet.
• Original Community Certificate for ST / SC /SC(A) / MBC &DNC / BC(Others) / BC(Muslims) from prescribed authority.

Other Important point

   Branch will be alloted according to merit through counselling by the principal as per communal reservation.
