To foster ambition and aspirations among the students in education,Co-curricular and Extracurricular activities “Ayya SDS Awards”in memory of Er. S.D.Somasundaram, B.E., former Revenue Minister of Tamilnadu and also founder of this institution has been instituted by our esteemed correspondent Er.S.D.S Selvam, B.E., B.L., during the academic year 2002-2003. The awards are
- Outstanding Student Award – to be given to the one who gets the highest rank in all round excellence.
- Academic Excellence Award – to be given to the one who gets the highest rank in studies.
- Sports Excellence Award – to be given to the one who gives the best performance in sports and games.
- Academic Proficiency Award – given in every Department to the one who gets the highest marks in studies in the particular semester.

ASTRA award
- Our institution received ASTRA award for best soft skill training and for Placement activities in the year December 2013.
- Four of our students received Best Achievers Awards from ASTRA for their achievements in Board examinations and various other activities held at college. The award was given to them on 28.06.2014 at hotel Kohinoor Asiana, Chennai.

- Mr. S. Arul Nelson, Programme Officer, NSS Unit – I was received the Best NSS Programme Officer’s award at Directorate Level for the academic year 2015 – 2016.
- Mr. A. Mohammed Ali, Programme Officer, NSS Unit – II was received the Best NSS Programme Officer’s award at Directorate Level for the academic year 2016 – 2017.
