National Cadet Corps (NCC)

The objective of the National Cadet Corps is to develop character, comradeship, and capacity for leadership among youth in India. The PPC NCC Company motivates the students with best training and the ideals of selfless service. The training inculcates team spirit, a sense of nationalism and it also helps in developing the overall personality of an individual and thus enabling them to become a responsible citizen of this nation.

The PPC NCC Company (Senior Division) under the control of N.C.C. Unit (3 SIG-PL) (Signal Platoon) was started in 2007 IN Strength of 50 cadets. The First year students are enrolled for a duration of three years. 

With a sense of nationalism and secularism outlook the PPC NCC Company is always carrying out activities with a distinct emphasis on social services, discipline and adventure training. Periodically, some of the Cadets are selected to undergo the adventurous and rigorous military training in attachment with regular Army training Centres, rock climbing, Mountaineering Camps, Trekking Camps, Army Attachment Camps, National Integration Camps etc., The Cadet regularly take part in the Inter-Collegiate NCC competitions. The PPC NCC Company also organises social service events like Anti – Drug Rally, Blood Donation Camp, Anti – Plastic Rally, visiting orphanages and old age homes and creating awareness among the public regarding Consumer Awareness, Cancer & AIDS awareness, etc. The Cadets are encouraged to complete the “B” and “C” certificate examinations and also encouraged to take up a career in Armed forces like Army, Navy and Air Force. 

AIMS OF NCC :

  • To Create a Human Resource of Organised, Trained and Motivated Youth, To Provide Leadership in all Walks of life and be Always Available for the Service of the Nation.
  • To Provide a Suitable Environment to Motivate the Youth to Take Up a Career in the Armed Forces.
  • To Develop Character, Comradeship, Discipline, Leadership, Secular Outlook, Spirit of Adventure, and Ideals of Selfless Service among the Youth of the Country.

MOTTO :

The motto of NCC is “Unity and Discipline“. ‘Unity’ implies our basic oneness, the brotherhood of all the Indian people regardless of their caste, colour or creed. Likewise, ‘Discipline’ is the very bedrock on which any nation is founded.

CORE VALUES OF NCC :

The NCC is a responsive, learning and continuously evolving organisation. Its activity is guided by certain core values that we endeavour to instil among all ranks of the NCC. These include the following:

(a) A sense of patriotic commitment to encourage cadets to contribute to national development.

(b) Respect for diversities in religion, language, culture, ethnicity, lifestyle and habitat to instil a sense of National unity and social cohesion.

(c) Abiding commitment to learn and adhere to the norms and values enshrined in the Indian Constitution.

(d) Understanding the value of a just and impartial exercise of authority.

(e) Ability to participate in community development and other social programmes.

(f) A healthy lifestyle free of substance abuse and other unhealthy practices.
